Does Hemp Seed Oil contain CBD?
Hemp Seed Oil is pressed from hemp seeds and does not contain CBD or THC. Hemp seed oil is however rich in omega-6, omega-6 & Vitamin E.
What is CBD?
CBD is a compound in oil extracted from industrial hemp, a plant which is also known as the cannabis plant. The full spectrum oil extracted is comprised of many compounds referred to as Cannabinoids. CBD is just one of those compounds called Cannabidiol. CBD is not psychoactive, that is, it does not create a “high”.
Why is CBD used?
While CBD in a purified form has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat specific types of epilepsy, no other uses have been approved by the FDA. Many users believe that CBD helps them with a variety of ailments. Though these claims have not be verified by the FDA, the market for CBD products continues to grow.
How is CBD used?
While CBD is an oil when extracted, that oil is generally too thick (viscous) and concentrated for direct usage. Though the oil can be bought, most users buy in either in a edible product, as a topical cream, or a format for vaping.
Common ways that CBD is consumed includes cookies, gummies (like gummy bears), drinks, drops, creams, lotions and vape oils to name a few.
How do I choose a CBD product?
If you have decided to buy a CBD product, there are a number of things to consider. Firstly, do you want a topical (creams, lotions, etc.) or an oral (drops, drinks, tablets, etc.) product.
Secondly, you need to learn the desired dosage, for example do you want a topical cream with 100 milligrams or 3000 milligrams of CBD.
Thirdly, labels need to be read carefully to determine whether the product contains CBD or is an extract from the Hemp Seed which had NO CBD. Sometimes the marketing is unclear.
